Ingredients
- 2 cups whole milk
- 0.5 cups dark chocolate, finely chopped (or cocoa powder)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 0.3 teaspoons salt
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 0.5 cups whipped cream, for topping
- 4 marshmallows, for topping
Steps
1. In a saucepan over medium heat, warm 2 cups whole milk with the 1 cinnamon stick, swirling gently until steam rises and tiny bubbles ring the edge — do not let it boil.
2. Remove the cinnamon stick. Add 0.5 cups dark chocolate, finely chopped (or cocoa powder), 2 tablespoons sugar, and 0.3 teaspoons salt. Whisk steadily until the chocolate fully dissolves into a smooth, glossy potion.
3. Take the pan off the heat and stir in 1 teaspoons vanilla extract.
4. Pour the potion into two mugs. Crown each with 0.5 cups whipped cream, for topping and drop in 4 marshmallows, for topping for a bubbling, cloud-like finish.
5. Enchant the hot chocolate with this incantation:
