In a potential breakthrough that could shed light on one of the world’s most enduring mysteries, a series of photographs dubbed the “most compelling surface images” ever taken of the elusive Loch Ness Monster have been released to the public. The remarkable snaps, captured in 2018 by Chie Kelly during a family vacation in the Scottish Highlands, depict an unidentified eel-like creature moving across the surface of the legendary loch.
For years, Mrs. Kelly, a 52-year-old translator, hesitated to share her unbelievable encounter, fearing public ridicule. However, inspired by a massive search for the Loch Ness Monster conducted last August, she mustered the courage to unveil her puzzling pictures to veteran Nessie hunter Steve Feltham, who has dedicated over three decades to studying the phenomenon.

Feltham, gobsmacked by the images, proclaimed them to be “the most compelling surface images of the phenomenon.” The 71 frames, digitally stitched together to create a seamless video, depict a mysterious creature moving from right to left over a distance of approximately 100 meters before vanishing beneath the dark waters, never to resurface.
“They still defy explanation,” Feltham asserted. “I don’t think they are otters – those creatures are much smaller than what is in the images – or divers. It also appears there may be two objects. They certainly warrant further investigation.”
Mrs. Kelly vividly recounts the eerie encounter on August 13, 2018, describing the creature as “spinning and rolling at times” while moving steadily across the loch’s surface. “We never saw a head or neck,” she recalled. “After a couple of minutes, it just disappeared, and we never saw it again.”
Dismissing initial theories of otters or seals, Mrs. Kelly expressed her firm belief in the existence of an unexplained creature in Loch Ness. “What I saw looked like a serpent. It was definitely a creature – an animal,” she affirmed.
In a bid to spark global discussion and analysis, The Cryptid Factor podcast has released all 71 frames, collaborating with Hollywood star Rhys Darby and co-hosts Leon Kirkbeck and Dan Schreiber to assemble the images into a compelling video.
“This video allows us to see how the monster moves, which is a game-changer,” the Cryptid Factor hosts declared. Dan Schreiber added, “Whether you’re a skeptic or a believer, this mysterious video will give you goosebumps and have you debating late into the night over what was captured by Chie in the loch that day.”
As the quest to unravel the Loch Ness enigma continues, these remarkable photographs have reignited the global fascination with one of Scotland’s most enduring legends, offering a tantalizing glimpse into the depths of the mysterious loch.
